1. OVERVIEW

This is a sample file of plei (proto Legal Entity Identifier) data produced
by OpenCorporates. For more information about plei, visit p-lei.com.

OpenCorporates and plei are not affiliated with and operate independently of
the Global LEI and Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF).

2. SAMPLE DATA SCOPE
--------------------
This alpha sample contains approximately 1.2 million legal entities.

- Jurisdictions: California (US-CA) and Florida (US-FL).
- Criteria: All legal entities beginning with the letter 'A'.
- Composition:
  * Data from official primary registers (Secretaries of State).
  * Records from the official Global LEI dataset.

IDENTIFIER FORMAT (OCID)
The identifiers in this sample follow the OCID scheme: they start with "OC"
followed by four zeros. Following the prefix is a 12-character Crockford Base32
encoded string and a 2-digit ISO 7064 MOD 97-10 checksum. These sample
identifiers should be treated as test data for evaluation and feedback.

3. DATA STANDARDS & FORMATTING

To ensure maximum interoperability, this file follows the technical
specifications used by the Global LEI Foundation (GLEIF).

  Legal form codes (e.g., 'Limited Liability Company') follow the ISO 20275 standard.
